State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr appealed a decision to release Sheikh Bassam al-Tarras, keeping him in custody until a decision is issued by the Military Court of Cassation.
Last month, former Mufti for Rashaya affairs Sheikh Bassam al-Tarras was briefly arrested over suspicion of his involvement in the bomb explosion that targeted the Ksara roundabout in Zahle, killing one woman and injuring several others.
He was summoned again by police for questioning over “security issues" and has remained in detention since.
