Lebanese police in south Lebanon detained Wednesday two drug dealers wanted under several arrest warrants for drug trafficking, the state-run National News Agency reported.
In details, the anti-drug regional office staged a raid Wednesday morning a house in the town of Sharhabeel, north of Sidon and arrested the Palestinian national Mohammad D. (43) and his brother Abdul-Naser (40), who are dangerous and prominent drug dealers. Additionally, their brother was detained Sadam D. who was arrested before on drug charges.
Authorities confiscated from their house two guns, two walkie-talkies, four cellphones, a set of knives and a quantity of heroin drug.
The News Agency also stated that Mohammad and Abdul-Nasser have been a source of terror and fear for more than eight years for the residents of old Sidon where they have been living. The brothers were suspected to supply drug for people inside Ain el-Helweh refugee camp.
The two suspects went into hiding two and a half months ago, and they have changed their residence and phone numbers several times.
Investigations are ongoing under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
