Bassil: We pledge to resign and not run for elections if any violation is proven against us
Energy Minister Gibran Bassil stressed on Monday that those who throw unfounded accusations undermine the intelligence of the Lebanese people. Bassil announced that he pledges to resign and not to run for Parliamentary elections if any violation is proved against him, calling on the other party to do the same.
In a speech following MP Michel Aoun’s address after the Change and Reform bloc’s weekly meeting in Rabiyeh, Bassil hoped that parliamentary investigation committees will be formed, mainly in the mobile phone sector that “was highly corrupted in the 1990s”.

Bassil said that the safety of gas cars is undisputable, adding that what MP Sami Gemayel did during the discussion session was a “theatrical play”.

Addressing March 14 coalition, Bassil said “they have now become like those who lie and believe their lies according to their dreams”. He added “they talk about issues they do not understand, and the funny thing is that they refer to Google”.
