The cabinet approved Thursday the resumption of the project pertaining to the Jal el-Dib Bridge, during a session held at the Grand Serail under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tammam Salam.
However, the cabinet postponed discussions related to the security appointments until later.
Following the session, Telecommunications Minister Boutros Harb declared that the item pertaining to the mobile phone operators was not approved adding that “it seems that this is the policy to be expected during the new presidential tenure.”
Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil had attended the session for the first time since last August, putting an end for his boycott against the government.
Bassil started boycotting cabinet sessions to protest the extension of the mandates of top military officials.
Thursday’s session is expected to be the last one before the government turns into a caretaker cabinet after the election of Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun as a president next Monday.
