In turn, Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea congratulated the Lebanese people over the election of Michel Aoun as president, adding that “Aoun stressed in his speech Lebanon’s commitment to the laws of the Arab League and the United Nations, placing the country in the right place in the foreign policy.”
Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt called for “putting all the differences aside and working side by side after ending the deadlock and turning a new leaf.”
