Kerry phone calls Aoun, hopes that new government would be formed soon

President Michel Aoun received on Tuesday a phone call from US Secretary of State John Kerry who congratulated him on his election.

 

During the phone call, Kerry reiterated that the US stands beside Lebanon and its army against terrorism, and hoped ​that a new government will be formed in Lebanon soon.

 

For his part, President Michel Aoun urged Kerry to keep providing Lebanon with military aid for the army that "is working on enhancing the country’s security and stability."

 

On another note, Aoun said that reaching a political solution for the Syrian crisis would reflect positively on Lebanon, mainly in resolving the refugee issue.
