Lebanon and Iran sign economic and service agreements
Minister of Economy and Trade Nicolas Nahas met with Iranian Minister of Transportation and Housing Ali Nikzad in Phoenicia Hotel on Tuesday with the participation of the Lebanese-Iranian follow-up committee. Several agreements and memoranda of understanding covering economic, social and services sectors were signed.

In this regard, Nahas said that cooperation and coordination between both countries made important strides in the framework of the common economic committee. “We will study a draft agreement to establish a free trade zone between the two countries”, he said.

For his part, the Iranian minister said that Lebanon and Iran are two sister states that have one enemy, Israel. He announced that specialized Iranian companies are ready to help Lebanon build the electricity and water plants it needs.
