A request has been submitted eight days ago by the Lebanese Armed Forces Intelligence to evacuate Al-Rihaniyeh camp for Syrian refugees in Akkar for private reasons.
The camp includes 350 tents that are home to around 1500 refugees.
The civil society groups working in the region said that they intend to inform the army intelligence of their rejection to the decision and will take the issue to the media.
The camp’s refugees were shocked by the decision, since they have nowhere else to go, a situation that will increase poverty and homelessness rates.
