Geagea: Some sides are trying to exclude LF from new government
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said on Sunday that one of the main reasons behind the delay in the formation of a new cabinet is an attempt “by some sides to exclude his party from the government.”

In a speech via Skype with party members in Brussels, Geagea said that some sides are finding it hard to adjust to the new political realities, mainly the alliance between his party and the Free Patriotic Movement.

He accused some parties of standing against his party’s participation in the Cabinet, but said the FPM along with the Future Movement are standing by the LF to prevent such a thing.

“President Michel Aoun is not leaving any room for this situation to happen,” Geagea added.

The formation of the new government is being delayed by the demands issued by some political groups, mainly desires to obtain “sovereign” ministries – particularly the Interior, Foreign, Finance and Defense ministries.
