President Aoun addresses Lebanese people on eve of country’s Independence day

Newly elected President Michel Aoun called on Monday for national unity facing foreign interference.

Aoun’s comments were made as he addressed the Lebanese people on the eve of the Lebanon’s 73rd Independence Day.

In a televised speech, Aoun called on the Lebanese people to strengthen their independence by fighting foreign meddling and avoiding any involvement in the regional conflicts.

He also noted that the army is the only “safety valve” for all the Lebanon when the country is facing dangers.
