REPORT: EDL contract workers vow to escalate movements

The Electricity Du Liban contract workers declared Thursday from outside the company premises that their movement is not a political one, calling for granting them tenure at the company. They added that their movement will be only for one day, noting that escalatory movements will be staged in the upcoming week.

During their sit-in the protesters said that the EDL administration have conducted illegal appointment process by employing 15 new employees, without taking into consideration any regulation, law or decree.

The contract workers had closed the company’s branches in Nabatieh, Tyre, Sidon and Beirut.
