Polls opened in Kuwait's parliamentary elections on Saturday.
Kuwait's ruler dissolved parliament by royal decree in October over unspecified security concerns as low oil prices squeeze government coffers, setting the stage for early elections in the tiny country.
Kuwait has a population of 3.9 million with 1.4 million of them nationals of Kuwait, but only 483,000 are registered to vote in this election.
In Kuwait's second district, 58 candidates are vying for the 55,376 voters registered in this district.
A handful of voters showed up early to be the first to vote.
