Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of Hezbollah Sheikh Nabil Qaouq hailed on Sunday the “heroic operation” carried out by the Lebanese army against the Islamic State on the outskirts of the border town of Arsal.
Sheikh Qaouq said that the operation is a national achievement that can be added on “the army’s gold record.”
He also noted that the army solely can protect the country from all threats.
“Lebanon became the most secure country in the region due to the army and the Resistance’s sacrifices,” he added.
Sheikh Qaouq concluded by saying that the threats coming from the al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State must not be disregarded.
The Lebanese Armed Forces Intelligence Branch managed on Friday to arrest an Islamic State jihadist identified as Ahmad Youssef Amoun
near a Syrian refugee encampment in Wadi al-Araneb in the border town of Arsal.
