The Kataeb party political bureau stressed Monday the need to form a new cabinet as soon as possible and pass a new electoral law in order to hold the parliamentary elections as scheduled.
Following the party’s weekly meeting held under the chairmanship of MP Samy Gemayel, the party said that “the meeting of the Judicial Council to look into the assassination case of President Bachir Gemayel and companions, even delayed, represented a determination of the Supreme Judicial Council to impose justice.”
The political bureau also thanked all those who participated in the mass commemorating the tenth anniversary of the assassination of Pierre Gemayel, emphasizing the need to continue the fight in order to rebuild the state and to restore the complete sovereignty.
On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women 2016 (which fell on Friday November 25), the party stressed the need to protect the rights stipulated by the laws passed in this regard.
On another note, the Kataeb congratulated the Future Movement on its latest general conference and the new elected leadership, hoping that it will serve the interests of Lebanon.
