Interior and Municipalities Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq noted Wednesday that he is not optimistic about reaching a possible agreement between the political parties over a new electoral within two months, hoping that “the new law will be passed at the parliament rather than discussed inside a hotel conference room.”
During a conference on the Legal Framework for Elections, al-Mashnouq stated that the Interior Ministry is ready to hold the parliamentary elections according to the 1960s electoral law, pointing out that “the 60s law might be publicly rejected, but perhaps it is secretly wanted.”
