REPORT: Syrians smuggled into Lebanon with the help of burning waste

A network of smugglers used the landfill in the mountainous region of Majdel Anjar to help Syrians infiltrate into the Lebanese territories.

In the details, the Lebanese and Syrian smugglers put fire to the piles of garbage, and when the smoke block the view, they start bringing in those who have pad them an amount of USD 500, through the mountains.

Ahmad Abdel Hamid, his wife and two children were the victims of this attempt as they sought to flee the war in Aleppo. But the 68-year-old man could not bear the cold weather and the raging storm and died after the smugglers left him in the mountains for two nights.

His wife and children survived and reached a general security center, the members of which interfered and transported them to the hospital.
