The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) issued on Monday a statement stating that a unit at Beirut International Airport thwarted an attempt to smuggle counterfeit Iraqi Dinar and US Dollars that amounted to 85 thousand dollars into Lebanon.

The money was found inside the suitcase of an Iraqi national identified identified only by his initials as S.B., born 1974.

The security forces at the airport also found two kilos of hashish in the suitcase of a Dutch traveler identified as I.E., born 1973.

Both culprits admitted to their crimes and were transferred to the concerned judiciary.
