Islamic State gunmen took 226 Syrian Assyrians in February 2015 from their homes distributed across 33 villages.
Assyrians staged movement for months and organized demonstrations, calling on all those concerned to help rescue their people from genocide at the hands of terrorism.
After the Islamic State executed 3 of the hostages, and the authorities turned a deaf ear to their issue, the Assyrians worked in their way.
