Change and Reform bloc Secretary MP Ibrahim Kanaan said Thursday that the government's caretaking period must not drag the state into a paralysis status, where the officials resign from abiding by the law and finalizing the people’s urgent affairs.
Following the meeting held by the Finance and Budget Committee, Kanaan stressed that “there are contradictory interpretations for the caretaker government within the administrations and surveillance institutions, which is considered unacceptable.”
In this context, the deputy called for reviewing the resolutions issued by the Prime Ministry, noting that “many of them violate the laws in many cases.”
On another note, the committee approved a draft law pertaining to opening an exceptional credit of LBP 75 billion to implement projects including public works and roads in various Lebanon regions.
The committee also approved that Lebanon joins the Agreement Establishing the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, with an estimated investment in Lebanon of USD 1 billion in developmental projects, as well as a general framework agreement with the European Union for cooperation in several fields.
