Attorney Tarek Shandab, representing a number of the Syrian nationals residing in Lebanon, filed a complaint before the public prosecution against Syria’s Mufti Ahmad Hassoun, calling for his arrest before he leaves the Lebanese territories, on charges of incitement to commit crimes against humanity and war crimes.
The attorney urged the Lebanese judiciary to give the order to the security authorities and circulate the mufti’s name across the border crossings in order to arrest him before leaving Lebanon.
The complaint will be referred to the Public Prosecutor Judge Samir Hammoud, who will take the decision accordingly.
