Within a period of ten days, the OEG/ARKAY Limited/Middle East Power alliance is supposed to start operating and providing maintenance services to Zouk and Jiyeh new power plants, with a cost reaching up to 107 million euros over a period of 5 years.
This comes after the administrative board of Electricite du Liban had approved the plan on November 29, in accordance of a report submitted to the head of the board Kamal al-Hayek on November 23, where all the related phases were detailed.
But the question remains whether or not the plants will in fact operate as scheduled, especially after the Finance Ministry renewed its rejection?
