Bakery Unions: Mills were not informed of any decision to set sale price of flour
Lebanon’s Union of Bakeries announced Tuesday that the Association of Mill owners was not a party to the agreement signed between the Ministry of Economy and the Bakery Unions. The Union added that mills were not informed of the Economy and Trade Minister’s decision to set a unified sale price for flour.

The Union of Bakeries said in a statement that mills cannot commit to the flour’s final price.

The Union called on the Minister of Economy Nicolas Nahas to build on the current prices of wheat and bran and on the milling fees in order to set an effective flour price based on specific and scientific data, not on predictions.
