Swiss court rejects claim against FIFA over Qatar World Cup
A Swiss court has rejected a claim by Dutch and Bangladeshi trade unions accusing FIFA of wrongful conduct and liability  for alleged human rights violations in connection with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the global soccer body said on Friday.

The suit, filed in Zurich, had called on FIFA to force Qatar to adopt "minimum labor standards" for migrant workers preparing for the tournament.

"FIFA monitors the situation very closely and, as recently stated by President (Gianni) Infantino, will continue to urge the Qatari authorities to ensure safe and decent working conditions for construction workers," Zurich-based FIFA said in a statement on the ruling by the Commercial Court of Zurich.
