Rai: Trust in the state is what we need from new era

Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai said on Sunday that “trust in the state is what we are looking for from the new era.”

Rai’s comments were made during his Sunday’s sermon whereby he called on all officials to find competent and honest people that are able to combat corruption and the waste of public funds.

The Patriarch, who saluted the new presidential and governmental era, urged the political forces to commit their performance to transparency, impartiality and social equity as well as the principle of separation of powers.
