REPORT: Committee to follow up on implementation of mechanical inspection agreement

Public transportation unions held an extraordinary meeting at the General Labor Confederation headquarters, during which they discussed the stages of the agreement sponsored by President Michel Aoun and based on which the sit-in was lifted from outside the mechanical inspection center.

 

In a statement issued following the meeting, the conferees stressed their commitment to the agreement’s content that was managed by Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim under the sponsorship of President Michel Aoun, expressing appreciation over adding the issue of the mechanical inspection to the agenda of the first cabinet session held after the vote of confidence.

 

The statement reiterated the eligibility of the state to be in charge of this sector, calling on the ministerial committee to get to work and make its recommendation to what serves the interest of the state’s treasury and the citizens’ rights.

 

The statement also noted that a committee to follow up on the implementation of the agreement and make necessary contacts in this regard.
