Minister of the Environment Nazzem
el-Khoury will be visiting the Bekaa valley tomorrow, along with a delegation
from the United Nations Development Program to look into a number of
environmental programs for the area.
The Minister’s tour will commence from the
town of Kefraya at 10:15 am, where he will be visiting an advanced site for forestation.
Jib Jineen will be the second leg of his tour; where Khoury will be assessing a
renewable energy site.
The Litani River and Qar’aoun Lake are
also among the Minister’s stops, prior to moving on to Taanayel where he will
be signing a corporate agreement in compliance with the Montreal Protocol which
stipulates the disposal of substances that deplete the ozone layer.
