LBCI’s
camera took an exclusive tour on Saturday of the Safra carpet factory, along
with members of the Civil Defense, where fire was still devouring fabric remnants
used in the carpet industry.
Following
24 hours of the Civil Defense and LAF’s continued work, fire rekindled in different
parts of the factory.
Security
forces were compelled to close one lane of the highway out of fear of the
collapse of another front of the building.
After
a number of engineers came to the scene to inspect the building, it was decided
to demolish a part of it that is adjacent to the highway given the threat it
poses to public safety.
The fire was finally put out without ruling out the
possibility that it rekindles.
The building will be demolished on Sunday morning
pending actions to be taken by concerned authorities to tighten safety measures
adopted by factories.
