The draft law proposed by the cabinet of former Prime Minister Najib Mikati is based on a proportional electoral system with full lists previously printed out, where crossing off names is not allowed, while the voter has the right to two preferential votes.
Mikati’s cabinet draft law divides Lebanon into 13 electoral districts and one district for expatriates that includes 6 deputies, raising the number of deputies in the parliament from 128 to 134 MPs.
