Culture Minister Ghattas Khoury stressed that President Michel Aoun has a serious intention to reach a new electoral law for the parliamentary elections, adding that the Future Movement also has the same intention.
In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, the minister noted that passing a new electoral law is a responsibility that falls upon all political factions, pointing out that extending the term of the parliament was a wrong move, but then the issue of the presidential election was the priority.
“Running for parliament is a decision to be taken by the Future Movement,” he stated, adding that the main concern of the Future Movement at the moment is to maintain civil peace and prevent the regional wars from spilling into Lebanon.
