REPORT: What hurdles face plan to reopen Kleiat airport?

The reopening of Kleiat airport or Rene Mouawad Air Base, which is located at a distance of 6 kilometers from the Lebanese-Syrian border, is considered among the development projects that can highly benefit the regions of North Lebanon and Akkar.

This project is presented by the Future Movement, based on the need to have an alternative airport, just like other countries.

Despite the ongoing war in neighboring Syria, and the refusal of the Future Movement to naturalize the relations with the Syrian Regime in order to sign agreements in this regard, it has however called for conducting studies in order to operate it.
