Abbas meets Berri in Ain el-Tineh

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met on Friday at Ain el-Tineh with Speaker Nabih Berri.

 
Berri deemed Abbas visit as "timely for it comes ahead of the Arab summit that will be held in Jordan.”

"We hope for a Palestinian national unity to be achieved, so as to encourage other States to rally around Palestine," Berri added.

For his part, Abbas assured that "Lebanon has endured for long, and has also made huge sacrifice for the sake of the Palestinian cause.”

“It still is the beacon for the defense of Palestine, and the Palestinian people could never forget this country's stances over decades," Abbas added.
