The Kataeb party’s Students and Youth Department, the Ahrar party, the Preogressive Youth association as well as civil society groups staged Friday afternoon a sit-in in Riad al-Solh Square to protest against decisions to raise the taxes in order to fund the pay scale.
The movement aims at exerting pressure on the deputies to pass the pay scale without passing the tax increase, calling for funding the pay scale by ending the waste of public funds and the sources of corruption.
