Parliamentary Human Rights Committee unanimously passed on Thursday a draft law pertaining to the punishment of those who commit torture, including cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. The draft law was also approved by the Administration and Justice Committee.
The committee discussed the formation of a national body for human rights, noting that the applications submitted requesting membership reached 15, but only 12 were approved and referred to the cabinet.
