Interior and Municipalities Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq hoped that President Michel Aoun would call on the cabinet to convene and discuss the issue of quarries and crushers, as well as all issues that concern the people. “These discussions will not be related to the political conflict over the electoral law.”
Commenting on the road blocking movements on Wednesday morning, al-Mashnouq said: “Regardless of all political parties, whether concerned or not, the law will be applied starting Thursday morning and we will prevent road blocking movement, by force if we had to.”
“The Internal Security Forces have been carrying out their duties, because it is absolutely forbidden for any group to obstruct and hinder the people’s affairs and prevent them from arriving to their jobs,” he added.
Regarding the meeting of the Central Security Council, the minister emphasized that all the measures have been taken in order to open all roads and prevent any highway from being closed for any reason.
