Apple farmers staged sit-ins and demonstrations on Thursday across a number of Lebanese regions, calling on the government to pay compensations reaching to LBP 40 billion, an amount which the cabinet had vowed to pay within a plan approved by the government of Tamam Salam in 2016, to support apple farmers.
The movements were staged knowing that the Higher Relief Commission had stressed that the Finance Ministry approved the transfer of funds.
