Al-Mokdad Clan has recently stolen the limelight after kidnapping one Turkish national as well as a Free Syrian Army member in retaliation for the abduction of Hassan Mokdad in Damascus.   

The mere utterance of the name “Maher Mokdad” is enough to get the entire clan into gear. However, when off of the military work, Maher is a different person.   

The 35-year-old has a joy of life with its minor details. On a normal day, he is always surrounded by his family: two wives and 8 children.     

Commenting on his ties with Hezbollah, Mokdad explained that the clan’s members respect the party but do not allow it to dictate to them.
