Dozens killed in air strike on bakery in central Syria

Dozens of people were killed and wounded in an air strike on a bakery in Syria's central Hama province, activists said, with some reporting up to 200 dead.

"We cannot get an exact figure yet because we are still confused about which are dead and which are wounded," one activist said.

The strike hit Halfaya, a town recently seized by rebels in a new push to take territory in Hama.

Earlier, the Syrian Information Minister Omran Zoubi said that Syria is not arming the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and added that the Russian position regarding Syria will not change.

Regionally, concentration was on the Christian towns of Mahrada and Alskilbieh seemingly since the opposition fighters promised to break into them if the Syrian army did not leave them and stop using them as a platform to target neighboring towns.

Meanwhile, military operations continued in Syria mainly in Aleppo and Damascus.

This as the Jordanian state news agency reported that a 21-year-old Syrian national was shot on Sunday by a bullet in the head while fleeing into Jordan.

The director of the Mafraq Government Hospital Dr. Hamoud Al Serhan said that the Syrian refugee was shot inside Syrian territories near the Jordanian border while trying to enter Jordan illegally.
