REPORT: The specter of racism tracks Syrian refugees in Lebanon

The latest position related to the Syrian refugees was that of the Change and Reform Bloc, mainly the stance of Minister Gebran Bassil who called for the closure of borders.

Soon after that, the racist disclosure became broader.

The first reply came from an anti-racism organization that published 2 articles in response to Minister Bassil and the Journalist Nayla Tueni who called the displaced from the Yarmouk camp as the ‘new settlers’

What the minister and the journalist said publicly was being circulated by a large number of Lebanese on their Facebook and Twitter pages; jokes and pictures were published calling for expelling the refugees and talking about their occupation to the Lebanese land.
