Fierce clashes erupt at Lebanese-Syrian borders

One citizen from Chehab family was killed, while his brother was injured when shells from the Syrian side hit the town of al-Hisheh in Wadi Khaled region.

In this context, the Mayor of the town of Mashta, Hammoud Naji Ramadan states that a house belonging to Assaf clan was targeted by a Syrian artillery shell, where only material damages were reported.

Meanwhile, a state of panic and tension overshadowed the region of Wadi Kahled due to the fall of shells and gunshots from the Syrian side.

Earlier in the week end, fierce clashes erupted on Saturday-Sunday overnight at the Lebanese-Syrian borders between the Syrian Army and armed groups, where artillery, mortars and machine guns were used.

In this context, it was unclear whether the armed groups were Lebanese people or Syrian opposition members.
