Charbel: The Interior Ministry is tasked with holding the elections on June 16

Caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel said on Friday that national unity and democracy are major essentials adding that dialogue is the only means to maintain stability and face the current difficulties and entitlements.

Minister Charbel said that the Ministry is tasked with holding the elections on the 16th of June seemingly since the parliament did not agree on extending its mandate.

Minister Charbel called for holding a cabinet session in order to issue decrees related to the formation of the electoral supervisory committee as well as the approval of an advance deposit equivalent to 20 million dollars for the treasury fund.
