The UN considers Israel's destruction of buildings in Gaza to create a buffer zone a "war crime"

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights stated on Thursday that the systematic destruction of buildings, which experts and human rights organizations confirm Israel is conducting in Gaza to create a buffer zone, is illegal raises to a "war crime."

High Commissioner Volker Türk said that "the widespread destruction of properties, which is not justified by military necessity and is carried out unlawfully and arbitrarily, amounts to a serious violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention and a war crime."
