A senior source within Hamas informed Agence France-Presse on Sunday that a truce agreement in Gaza could be possible within 24 to 48 hours if Israel 'responds' to its demands.

The source, who requested anonymity, stated, ''On Sunday, negotiations will commence in Cairo, and if Israel responds, the path will be paved for an agreement within 24 to 48 hours.''
