US welcomes appointment of new government by the Palestinian Authority

The US Department of State said on Friday that it welcomes the Palestinian Authority's appointment of a new government.

Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the department, said in a statement, "The renewal of the Palestinian Authority is essential to achieving results for the Palestinian people in both the West Bank and Gaza and to creating conditions for stability in the wider region."
