Derian: Internal mobilization is essential for the success of the presidential election, and external mobilization supports it

During his message on the occasion of the Mawlid, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, the Grand Mufti of the Republic, affirmed that "the prevailing situation in Lebanon for years does not indicate any moral commitment of any kind from many political and administrative officials."

He stated, "Politicians are not fulfilling their responsibilities towards the institutional vacuum; they continue to obstruct the judicial process, and they evade their major responsibilities in light of the dire economic and social conditions facing the Lebanese people."

"Internal mobilization is essential for the success of the presidential election, and external mobilization supports it. All political forces must bear their responsibilities towards the nation and the people," he added.

He announced that "the Taif Agreement will remain the guarantor of Muslim-Christian partnership, and there is no place for proposals that tear the country apart and divide the Lebanese."
