Eight Syrian soldiers killed in Israeli raids in southern Syria

On Wednesday, eight Syrian soldiers were killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted multiple military positions in the Daraa province in the southern part of the country, as reported by the official Syrian media, citing military sources.

The source stated, "At approximately 1:45 AM today, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting several of our military positions in the countryside of Daraa."

According to the source, the airstrikes resulted in the deaths of eight military personnel and injuries to seven others, in addition to causing some material losses.

The Israeli military had previously announced that their fighter jets conducted airstrikes on "military infrastructure and artillery launchers belonging to the Syrian army in response to missiles launched from Syria towards Israel" on Tuesday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that "11 military personnel, including four officers," were killed in the Israeli airstrike, which it said targeted the "Radar Battalion in the vicinity of the town of Qarfa and the 12th Brigade in the Izraa area" in the Daraa province.

It noted that the airstrikes destroyed "warehouses for missiles and weapons, as well as a radar for the Syrian regime's air defenses," all of which belonged to the Syrian regime forces.

The Israeli airstrikes also targeted a military unit near the occupied Syrian Golan, according to the Observatory.
