Paris deems death sentence against Iranian rapper Toomaj Salehi 'unacceptable'

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Thursday that the death sentence issued against Iranian rapper Toomaj Salehi is 'unacceptable.'

The ministry said in a statement, "France strongly condemns this decision, which adds to the many other death sentences and unjustified executions linked to the autumn 2022 protests in Iran."

Salehi had been imprisoned for supporting the protest movement in Iran in 2022.
