Private hospitals stage new protest

Minister of Health Jamil Jabak said on Friday that the hospitals are an integral part of the Health Ministry, adding that the country is currently suffering from austerity measures.

 

“We need to bear each other because we are in the same boat,” Jabak said during a protest for owners and employees of private hospitals in Lebanon outside the Health Ministry.

 

The minister also vowed to ensure the amounts due to the private hospitals.

 

For his part, head of the Syndicate of Private Hospitals Sleiman Haroun called on the government to pay the amounts, to increase the financial provisions it allocates the hospitals.and to ensure the needed mechanism to settle the accumulated amounts.

 

He also called for establishing a joint committee between the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Finance and the Syndicate to discuss a mechanism that secures regular cash flow.
