'Record-breaking' debut: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 sells 2.5 million copies in 24 hours

Sony Interactive Entertainment unveiled on Monday that Marvel's Spider-Man 2, a creation by Insomniac Games in partnership with PlayStation Studios and Marvel Games, has broken records by selling over 2.5 million copies within its first 24 hours. 

Eric Lempel, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment, expressed his esteem for the high standards set by Insomniac Games. 

He emphasized that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is the third installment of this blockbuster franchise designed to harness the special capabilities of the PlayStation 5. 

He added: "On behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment, I want to say thank you to the fans – we truly hope you are enjoying your time playing as Peter and Miles in this amazing adventure."

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 marks a noteworthy step for PlayStation Studios, emphasizing a commitment to the players, as they can expect a thrilling experience as they navigate an expanded Marvel's New York with the new Web Wings.

The game also offers engaging narratives and introduces new abilities as players confront a mix of fresh and iconic Marvel Super Villains.
