Italy lifts 10-year-old ban on Libyan civil aviation

The Government of National Unity in Libya, based in Tripoli, stated that its Italian counterpart announced lifting the air embargo imposed on Libyan civil aviation after nearly ten years.

The Tripoli government explained in a press briefing that the Italian government informed them of "its decision to lift the air embargo imposed on Libyan civil aviation for the past ten years."

Flights between the two countries will resume starting in September.
