Latvia, Estonia sign deal to buy German-made missile defense system

Estonia and Latvia signed a joint agreement worth one billion euros with the German company, Dell, to purchase the "Iris-TSLM" medium-range air defense system.

In addition, Berlin noted that both Baltic states, located on the Baltic Sea, also signed a letter of intent to participate in the "European Sky Shield Initiative," launched by Germany last year following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
